Fermit GLISSA Silicone Tap Grease is a special lubricating and sealing compound for drinking water fittings. It is suitable for applications involving both hot and cold drinking water and is designed for reliable lubrication and sealing of fittings, valves and sealing components.
GLISSA is particularly suitable for applications where, in addition to effective lubrication, hygiene, drinking water requirements and use in food related environments are important. According to the manufacturer, the product is physiologically harmless as well as neutral, odorless and tasteless.
According to the technical data sheet, Fermit GLISSA is listed with KTW BWGL, WRAS, NSF H1 and Eurofins approvals or certifications.
The stated NSF H1 classification is particularly relevant for applications in and around food processing equipment. H1 lubricants are intended for applications where incidental, technically unavoidable contact between the lubricant and food may occur.
It is important to distinguish this from intentional food contact. NSF H1 does not mean that the silicone grease is intended to be used as a food product or food additive. The Fermit technical data sheet also does not state that GLISSA is intended for deliberate direct contact with food. The specific requirements and approvals for the intended application should therefore always be checked.

Thanks to its lubricating, sealing and water repellent properties, it is also suitable for corresponding sealing and lubrication points using NBR and EPDM O rings, provided that the specific application complies with the manufacturer's approvals and specifications.
Before applying the grease, surfaces should be cleaned of old grease and residues. Apply the silicone grease using a suitable tool and distribute it evenly over the surface to provide complete coverage.
