LOXEAL 53-14 Medium-Strength Thread Sealant, DVGW Approved
LOXEAL 53-14 is a medium-strength anaerobic thread sealant designed for sealing hydraulic and pneumatic metal threaded connections up to 3/4 inch, as well as small pipes. The product cures in the absence of air between close-fitting metal surfaces and can be used as an alternative to conventional PTFE sealing tape.
LOXEAL 53-14 is suitable for the technical sealing of connections against gases, water, LPG, hydrocarbons, oils, and various other chemicals. Once cured, the product also provides high resistance to heat, corrosion, shock, and vibration.
For gas applications, LOXEAL 53-14 is DVGW approved according to DIN EN 751-1. This approval relates specifically to gas applications and should not be interpreted as a drinking-water approval.

According to the LOXEAL technical data sheet, resistance to a 50% water/glycol mixture at 87 °C is rated as “excellent” after 100, 500, and 1,000 hours.
Application: Clean and degrease the threads before assembly. Apply LOXEAL 53-14 around the entire circumference between the first and second threads of the male fitting, using sufficient product to completely fill the threaded connection. For stainless steel, passivated surfaces, larger gaps, or low temperatures, LOXEAL recommends using LOXEAL Activator 11 where required.
Important: The statement that the product is suitable for water refers to its technical media resistance. The DVGW approval according to DIN EN 751-1 applies to gas applications and does not constitute drinking-water approval. The provided technical data sheet does not state a KTW-BWGL, WRAS, or NSF/ANSI 61 drinking-water certification.
*The general curing section states a full cure time of 24–36 hours, while 3–6 hours is specified under the M10 test conditions stated in the technical data sheet.
