The PTFE flat gasket tape 3 × 1.5 mm is a flexible, highly resistant sealing tape made from 100% pure mono-directionally expanded PTFE (ePTFE). Its high compressibility allows the material to adapt reliably to different sealing surfaces. The self-adhesive backing makes positioning and installation on the sealing surface easier.
The tape is particularly suitable for flange connections, machine housings, equipment flanges, and other static sealing applications. It can also be used for large or complex sealing geometries and offers high chemical resistance.
The PTFE sealing material is temperature-resistant from −240 °C to +270 °C, and briefly up to +315 °C. The technical documentation specifies a recommended operating range from vacuum up to 40 bar and temperatures from −240 °C to +150 °C, depending on the application and installation conditions.

The documentation specifies FDA 21 CFR 177.1550 for the PTFE material. For the adhesive used on the self-adhesive version, FDA 21 CFR 175.105 is stated. The available documentation therefore provides information regarding the FDA compliance of the materials used.
However, the available documentation does not state a clear drinking-water approval according to KTW-BWGL, WRAS, or NSF/ANSI 61. The stated DVGW testing should therefore not be interpreted as a general approval for drinking-water applications.
